The Tale of the Wolf with the Pelican- Aesop’s fairy tales

One day, a wolf was eating his meal. He was trying to eat a little too fast. Because of this, one of the bones got stuck in his throat. No matter what he did, he couldn’t get the bone out. Desperate and unsure of what to do, he thought of the forest’s doctor, the pelican.

He set off on his way, traveling far and wide, crossing rivers and hills. Finally, he arrived at the pelican’s place.
“Brother Pelican, can you please help me? A piece of bone is stuck in my throat, and I can’t breathe.”

The pelican looked into the wolf’s mouth and said:
“That’s easy; I’ll get it out right away.”

After finishing treating a baby squirrel, the pelican turned his attention to the wolf’s throat. Using his long beak, he reached in and easily removed the bone.

Relieved as the bone was finally out of his throat, the wolf started walking back into the forest. The pelican called out to him:
“Hey, Brother Wolf! Aren’t you going to say thank you before you leave?”

“Thank you?!” said the wolf. “I didn’t harm you, did I? Isn’t that enough?” he snapped.
